ABOUT NEUROTOXINS “Tox”
wHAT IT IS
Neurotoxins are purified proteins used to temporarily relax facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles—those lines that form from repeated expressions like frowning, squinting, or raising your eyebrows. At Skin Body & Soul Med Studio, I use FDA-approved neurotoxins such as Dysport®, Jeuveau®, & Letybo® to help soften fine lines & smooth areas like the forehead, frown lines (11s), crow’s feet, chin, & more.
By blocking the nerve signals that tell certain muscles to contract, neurotoxins allow the skin to appear smoother, more refreshed, & naturally youthful—without freezing your expression. Results typically begin to appear within 2–5 days, with full results in about 2 weeks, and can last up to 3–4 months depending on the individual.
Neurotoxin treatments are quick, minimally invasive, & highly customizable, making them one of the most popular options for preventing & reducing visible signs of aging.
Neurotoxins work by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that cause certain facial muscles to contract. When injected into specific areas, the neurotoxin targets the muscle activity responsible for expression lines—such as frowning, squinting, or raising the eyebrows—allowing the skin to relax & smooth out.
Over time, repetitive facial movements cause dynamic wrinkles like crow’s feet, forehead lines, & frown lines (11s) to become more visible. By reducing the muscle’s ability to contract, neurotoxins help prevent those lines from deepening & give the skin a more refreshed, youthful appearance.
The treatment is quick, typically taking 10–15 minutes, with minimal discomfort. You’ll begin to see results within 2–5 days, with full effects in about 2 weeks, & results generally last 3–4 months. Regular treatments can help maintain smoother skin & even train the muscles to move less over time.
How it works
Neurotoxin treatments are quick, minimally invasive, & highly customizable, making them one of the most popular options for smoothing fine lines & preventing signs of aging.
At your appointment, we’ll begin with a brief consultation to discuss your goals & evaluate your facial anatomy. The treatment itself takes about 10–15 minutes. Using a small, fine needle, tiny amounts of neurotoxin are injected into targeted facial muscles—most commonly in areas like the forehead, frown lines (11s), crow’s feet, chin, or jawline.
Most patients experience only mild discomfort, often described as a quick pinch. There’s no required downtime, so you can return to normal activities right away, though it’s best to avoid lying down, strenuous exercise, or rubbing the area for the first few hours.
You may notice slight redness, swelling, or tiny bumps at the injection sites—this is normal & typically resolves within 30–60 minutes. Results begin to appear within 2–5 days, with full effects visible around day 10–14. You’ll enjoy smoother, more relaxed skin that still looks natural—not frozen. Results typically last 3–4 months.
